UK market: The UK stock market showed cautious trading on Thursday with the blue-chip FTSE100 index slightly in the red, weighed down by disappointment at Next’s (LON:NXT) forecast drop (-3.10%). The index received some support from stocks like Fresnillo Plc (4.44%) and M&G Plc (2.45%). The FTSE 250 index, which focuses on mid-caps, fell 0.71%.

Bridgepoint Group Plc (LON:BPT): The asset management company rose more than 13%, with a daily high of GBX 370 after the company announced its preliminary results for the financial year ended December 31, 2021. The company’s total assets under management increased by 23.7% to 32.9 billion euros.

Surface Transforms Plc (LON:SCE): The auto parts supplier rose more than 32%, with a daily high of GBX 56. The share price was in the green after the company announced that it had signed a new contract with an existing customer, OEM 8, with a total contract value of £100 million.

Games Workshop Group Plc (LON: GAW): The maker of toys and board games rose around 7%, with a daily high of 7,590 GBX following the announcement of its business update for three months until at the end of February 2022. Overall business performance was in line with expectations. Additionally, the company declared a dividend of 70p per share.

US markets: The US market should open in the green, as indicated by the futures indices. The S&P 500 future rose 18 points or 0.39% to 4,464, while the Dow Jones 30 future rose 0.32% or 109 points to 34,357. rose 0.39% to 14,503 (at the time of writing – 8:50 a.m. ET).

US market news:

Shares of music streaming service provider, Spotify Technology (SPOT) rose about 4% in pre-market commerce after the company struck a deal with Google to let its subscribers sign up directly from the Google Play Store.

Actions of the electric vehicle manufacturer Nikola (NKLA) rose more than 15% in premarket trading after the company announced it had started manufacturing electric trucks at its Arizona plant.
