Looking for Sony’s elusive console? We have all the latest information

(The Independent)

Update July 25: The PS5 is in stock at PlayStation Direct, Verythe BT Shop and Argos after selling to Amazon. PS5 could restock at curries and Game this week. Read on for more information.

Since its launch in 2020, the PlayStation 5 has been ridiculously difficult to pick up. Supply chain issues resulting from the coronavirus pandemic have all but halted production of Sony’s latest games console.

Thankfully, the stock situation has improved dramatically in recent months, with PS5 bundles readily available from at least one retailer since late April, with Game and the BT shop, as well as several independent retailers like The game collection and To analyse lead the charge.

We expect this flurry of console restocks to continue throughout the summer. But while restocks have become more frequent, buying a console on its own remains a challenge, with retailers preferring to restock bundles rather than the standalone console – those sell out in the blink of an eye. Digital consoles – bundles included – are even harder to find and have all but disappeared off the face of the earth.

If you’re still on the hunt for the elusive PlayStation 5, we’ve got a tip for you: sit back on this live blog and watch your real-time alerts. Our goal is to guarantee you a next-gen machine, whether it’s a bundle, standalone disc or digital edition console, as well as providing you with the details on the best games and accessories to grab with your new console, plus the latest game reviews.

When could Smyths Toys restock the PS5?

Now that we’ve scoured all the retailers that currently have the PS5 in stock this morning, who do we think might be restocking next? We were originally planning another restock at Smyths Toys this month, but the retailer just updated its PS5 listing page with new release dates, and we still have to wait a bit.

Smyths now expects another console shipment to arrive in August, so we’ll skip that month and wait for an early August drop.

‘Saints Row’ hands-on preview: A more grounded open world with plenty to prove

With the latest standalone title in the series, Saints Row: Escape from Hellreleased in 2015, one of Volition’s choices was where to take inspiration from a series that had become famous for its tendency to jump the shark.

What began as a series about creating a criminal gang soon saw the eponymous ‘Saints’ take over the Oval Office, battle aliens and ultimately travel to the depths of hell to confront the devil himself. . It’s fair to say Saints Row was never the subtle type.

In our four-hour portion of an early part of the game, Saints Row is about to continue reveling in its own chaos once again. Read our full preview in the article below:

When might Game restock the PS5?

GameLots of ‘s sold out over the weekend or the retailer decided to drop them from the list – usually the latter. When Game fails to sell its console allocation before the weekend, the retailer tends to take its bundles offline and then bring them back online during the week.

We expect Game to bring them back online this week, potentially Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. We’ll let you know when more drop.

Is the PS5 in stock at Currys?

In truth curries style, several PS5 packs are listed as in-stock on the retailer’s website, but when you try to add them to your cart, you’re faced with an error message.

This happened recently on the Currys website. We’re hoping the retailer will put them online soon, but we can’t pinpoint exactly when. Keep an eye on the blog if any of the packs interest you, and we’ll let you know as soon as it’s restocked.
